I’ve had two people ask me if these two were models and this was a styled shoot, but nope they aren’t, Katie and Dakota are the real deal and as beautiful as they are on the outside they are honestly a thousand times more beautiful on the inside (and I don’t care how cheesy that sounds it’s true!). These two each have a heart of gold and the love they have for each other is so strong and sweet. There were SOOO many awesome things from the weddings I had the opportunity to shoot in 2019, here are a few of the best parts!
Best Party
Hannah and Chris win the award for the best party. I don’t know if it was their awesome DJ or that Hannah and Chris have the funnest friends ever, but their reception was an absolute blast!
Cutest Flower Girl
Mark and Savanna win the award for having the cutest flower girl ever! Aka their adorable daughter!
Most Gorgeous Rings
Mandy and Tommy win the award for the most gorgeous rings! Completely obsessed with the rose gold and details of Mandy’s wedding band!
Most Intimate Wedding
Abby & Luke win the award for the most intimate wedding, they had a small “backyard” wedding, I put backyard in quotations because below is a shot of their “backyard”… it was BEAUTIFUL and the attention to detail at their wedding was amazing!
Best First Dance
Dave and Justine win the award for the best first dance, they took dance lessons before their wedding day and it showed! I was seriously impressed!
Prettiest Bridesmaids Dresses
Tyler and Leah’s wedding wins the award for prettiest bridesmaids dresses. In my completely biased opinion because I am obsessed with pink and sequins! It also might be because Leah and all of her bridesmaids are also insanely beautiful!
Coldest Wedding Day
Lauren and Jake win the award for the COLDEST wedding day! I want to say the windchill was at least -30 that day! But thankfully Lauren, Jake, and their bridal party are troopers and braved the cold for some beautiful snowy pictures.
Funniest Toasts
Amanda and Matthew’s wedding day wins the award for the funniest toasts. Both of Matthew’s best men, their priest, Amanda’s dad, seriously everyone that picked up a mic at this wedding was hilarious!
Happiest First Dance
Elizabeth and Kurt win the award for the most fun and energetic first dance, which reflected the energy of their entire wedding day!

This shoot with Ari and Cole was so much fun. I love that Cole reached out to me to schedule a portrait session to celebrate Ari and his three year anniversary, he deserves some major recognition for being a guy who is happy to take pictures with his girl, you don’t see those everyday!
If you read Ari and Cole’s sneak peek post then you know that it just so happened that Cole’s girlfriend Ari was my neighbor when I lived in Illinois as a kid which we didn’t figure out until after we left their session. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful this wedding was. Tyler and Leah are just good people and good people attract good people which is probably why they had the sweetest bridal party ever, not to mention both of them come from amazing families. Abby and Luke’s engagement session might be my favorite so far this summer. These two are so easy going and brave, they climbed right through that tall swampy grass, without batting an eye and it was TOTALLY worth it. I am absolutely obsessed with these images and I cannot wait for their wedding day in September!
